COMPETITION STAGES & RULES

The competition, in Tango de Pista, will be developed in 3 stages, according to the schedule established by Tango Temptation Festival & Championship:

1 Qualifying Round,

2 Semifinal,

3 Final.

1 Qualifying Round: All registered couples will participate. They will dance one time – Qualifying round will be held on Friday 25th April 2025 starting at 11am

2 Semifinal: Couples that have been selected in the Qualifying Round will participate on Friday 25th April 2025 at 12.30am.

3 Final: Couples that have been selected in the Semifinal will participate on Saturday 26th April 2025 starting at 8pm.

In the Tango de Pista category, couples will compete in group performances, dancing to three recorded songs, selected by the Preliminary.

The competition, in Vals & Milonga, will be developed in 2 stages, according to the schedule established by Tango Temptation Festival & Championship:

1 Qualifying Round: All registered couples will participate. They will dance one time – Qualifying round will be held on Friday 25th April 2025 starting at 11.45am Vals & 12.00 am Milonga

2 Final: Couples that have been selected in the Semifinal will participate on Saturday 26th April 2025 starting at 7.30pm. Vals and 7.45pm Milonga

Ronda of the winners of all categories will be held at 8.30 pm. All winners must attend!

Couples may be disqualified if they:

a) Do not comply with the competition regulations.

b) Engage in any political or religious expression during the competition (by any means) that could be deemed offensive to the audience or the organizers, or that could interfere with the event’s proceedings.

c) Commit any ethical violation or improper act that could tarnish the image of the Preliminaries and/or the 2025 Tango World Championship, or cause discomfort to the audience.

d) Engage in any act of physical and/or verbal aggression within or outside the competition venue, against any person, including participants, jury members, staff, or the general public.

If any of these situations arise, THE ORGANIZATION and FESTIVALES BA may jointly decide to disqualify or eliminate the couple from the competition.

Competitors are allowed to attend group classes or seminars led by jury members, but they may not take private lessons from any jury member while they are still competing.

Regarding appeals: All jury decisions will be final and not subject to appeal. By registering, participants automatically accept this condition. In case of any doubts or disagreements, the concerned party may submit a written request (in Spanish or English) to THE ORGANIZATION, but NOT directly to the judging panel.

FILMING AND PHOTOGRAPHING

The Organisation of the Preliminary reserves the right to record all the stages of the Championship, by any means known or to be known—including but not limited to filming, recording, photographing, digitalisation, etc.—by itself or third parties, in order to promote and advertise the event. The recorded material obtained will be the exclusive property of the Organisation of the Preliminary, who will have to turn a copy of it, as established by the Collaboration Agreement, to the Office of Festivals. By entering the Championship, participants explicitly and irrevocably authorise the use of the recorded material, without this suggesting—or implying—any compensation for any reason whatsoever by the Organisation of the Preliminary and/or the Office of Festivals, in favor of any person or organisation that claims entitlement to any right that may be invoked. This clause also includes, without limitation, all photographic material published and/or made available for promotion, advertisement, etc.
